About Let the Children Play
Since 2001, Let the Children Play, LLC has offered lessons in piano and voice along with interactive music education and entertainment. The goal of Let the Children Play is, “To expose the nation’s children to the world of music, its rich expansive history, inclusive nature, brain stimulation, healing power, and to make their dreams come true through music.”
Clarissa P. Lewis is the founder and director of Let the Children Play, LLC. Mrs. Lewis is a classically trained pianist and vocalist who loves to work with children of all ages through her unique music education experience. Private voice and piano lessons are held at the Dance Magic Performing Arts Center in northeast Indianapolis.
Mrs. Lewis has been active in the entertainment community since the age of five. She is a founding member of Sojourner Truth at Indiana University (I.U.) Bloomington, and she also performed with I.U.’s African American Choral Ensemble throughout the United States of America and overseas. Over the years, Mrs. Lewis has participated in numerous productions, and has won various contests such as Star Quest and Rising Star Gospel. During the last decade, Mrs. Lewis was a featured entertainer at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and has won the hearts of thousands of kids, young and old, through fun interactive music and dance.
Mrs. Lewis holds a Master’s Certificate in piano pedagogy from Butler University. During her studies at Butler University, she also wrote articles for Butler Pedagogy Review, held workshops, and taught Little Mozart.
Mrs. Lewis released a children’s CD, Let Us Play, and is the author of Don’t Be a Gummy Gus Gummy Gus.
About the Dance Magic Performing Arts Center
"Dance Magic” is a popular dance studio located in northeast Indianapolis on 10605 Deme Drive (map). In addition to ballet, jazz, tap and hip-hop classes, Dance Magic offers Clarissa’s voice and piano lessons on site, and even acting lessons. Clarissa is also a co-owner of D&C Dancewear, also located on the premises.
